Register of Deeds

Register Of Deeds Office Public Closure

Beginning Monday, June 15, 2020, the Register of Deeds' office will again be open to the public. However, pursuant to the Tuscola County Non-Court Employee COVID-19 Preparedness and Response Plan, admittance to the office is by scheduled appointment only. You may schedule an appointment by calling: (989) 672-3840. Visitors will be screened prior to entering the building and anyone able to medically tolerate a face covering must wear a covering at all times during their visit. A mask will be provided, if needed. We continue to encourage the submission of documents for recording by FedEX, UPS, US Postal Service, and e-recording.

Welcome to the Tuscola County Register of Deeds. Land record indexes are available online from December of 1988 to present. The effective date is listed on the search screen. All other land records dating back to 1852 are available for research by visiting our office.

To begin your search, click on "Land Record Search" in the menu column. Then, simply click on the State Of Michigan, then Tuscola County and begin entering one of the parties' names in the name search boxes.

To purchase copies, you may obtain them online, come to our office or send self-addressed stamped envelopes with the recording information (liber & page) and the correct fees.

Please reference the menu for additional recording and fee information or contact the office if you need additional assistance.
