The Family Division is a specialized docket within the Circuit Court dealing with domestic relations cases, as well as cases involving juvenile delinquency and the abuse or neglect of minor children. In most counties, including Tuscola County, a Probate Judge presides over the Family Division by assignment. In Tuscola County, the Family Division hears divorce cases, child custody and support disputes, juvenile delinquency matters, and cases involving allegations of child abuse or neglect.
