| Mosquito Abatement
Tuscola County Mosquito Abatement strives to provide the public with detailed, up-to-date information about our organization, as well as about the many ways we are trying to enhance the quality of life in our county through integrated pest management.
Schedules
Mosquito hatches occur at different times
throughout the year and vary greatly depending on the weather. Due to this we
do not follow a specific schedule for treatment. However, if you would like to
know where we are treating this information is available by calling our office
during normal office hours, via a recorded message after hours, and on our facebook page. Nightly
treatment locations are normally updated after 3:00pm, Monday through Friday.
Residential Treatment
Certain areas of the county may have a localized mosquito problem. Mosquitoes may even be breeding on your property. If you believe you have such a problem and would like information about residential treatment, click the Treatment menu item to the right of your screen.

Biology
Tuscola County Mosquito Abatement is a program which is driven by biological surveillance and, as such, this department monitors the environment for fluctuating trends in mosquito ecology. Pesticide evaluation and research is conducted, as well as, site investigations in order to promote the principle of integrated pest management as much as possible. Another important function of biology at TCMA is disease surveillance for Eastern Equine Encephalitis and St. Louis Encephalitis. These diseases
are vectored by mosquitoes which inhabit our county and can transmit illness to humans and other animals. To learn more about the 60 different types of mosquitoes that inhabit Michigan and how they affect you, click the Biology menu item to the right of your screen.
