Tuscola County Victim Services provides assistance to crime victims in the following areas:
Hospital, police agency or crime scene crisis intervention, criminal justice advocacy, courtroom accompaniment, assistance with personal protection orders and subsequent violations information and referral.
Volunteer advocates available to all agencies to assist in crisis counseling and death notification after fatal accident or suicide.
Crisis counseling and follow up contacts, particularly in domestic violence and sexual assault incidents. Assistance in filing Crime Victim Compensation claims.
Tuscola County Victim Services is supported by a Crime Victim Assistance Grant, Award CVA#20587-8V03 awarded to Tuscola County by the Michigan Crime Victim Services Commission, Michigan Department of Community Health. The grant award of $54,704 (80% of the project), comes from the Federal Crime Victims Fund, established by the Victim of Crime Act of 1984. Tuscola County provides the required match by the use of volunteer hours.
