Register Of Deeds
Welcome to the Tuscola County Register of Deeds. Land record indexes are available online from 1992 to the present. The effective date is listed on the search screen. All other land records dating back to 1850 are available for research by visiting the office.
To begin your search, click on "Land Record Search" in the menu column. Then, simply click on the State Of Michigan, then Tuscola County and begin entering the search name.
To purchase copies, send self-addressed stamped envelopes with the recording information (liber & page) and the correct fees.

Office Location
The Register of Deeds office is located in the Courthouse on the main floor. The only entrance faces State Street (M-81), at the front of the building. The Courthouse has a ramp, electric doors, elevator, and handicap parking for easier access. Tobacco products are not allowed on county property and all visitors must pass through a metal detector and security. Please leave all metal objects at home or in your vehicle.

Closed weekends and holidays.

Mailing & Payment Information
Documents can be hand delivered or mailed in for recording. Appropriate fees and self-addressed stamped envelopes must accompany the recordings. Checks and money orders are acceptible for payment. Checks must have the account holder's and bank's name and address on them and may not be more than 90 days old. Checks made payable directly to the Register of Deeds for the correct amount will be accepted. Please check all documents and fees thoroughly before submitting to ensure recordability.
